4These healthy tartlets are so delicious and very easy to make. Nobody would ever guess that the chocolate mousse is made with avocado and not cream cheese. I never tell my guests until after they have eaten the tartlets just to see their amazed faces.
Raw Chocolate and Pecan Tartlets
INGREDIENTS
For the Base
- 100g pecan nuts
- 80g stoned dates
- 30g coconut oil
For the Chocolate Topping
- 100g pecan nuts
- 50g ground almonds
- 90ml maple syrup
- 50g cocoa powder
- 1 large firm avocado
- 80g coconut oil
- 24 pecan halves
- 2 tsp maple syrup
METHOD
For the Base
- Grease and line 4 loose-bottomed tartlet tins with parchment paper.
- Place the nuts, dates and oil into a blender and blend until combined. Press into the base of the tartlet tins and place in the fridge to set.
For the Topping
- Blend all the topping ingredients in a blender until smooth. Spoon onto the tartlets and smooth the top. Decorate each tartlet with 6 pecan halves and place in the fridge to set. When ready to serve, remove from the tins and brush the nuts with the maple syrup.
