These healthy tartlets are so delicious and very easy to make. Nobody would ever guess that the chocolate mousse is made with avocado and not cream cheese. I never tell my guests until after they have eaten the tartlets just to see their amazed faces.

Raw Chocolate and Pecan Tartlets


For the Base

  • 100g pecan nuts
  • 80g stoned dates
  • 30g coconut oil
For the Chocolate Topping
  • 100g pecan nuts
  • 50g ground almonds
  • 90ml maple syrup
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 1 large firm avocado
  • 80g coconut oil
  • 24 pecan halves
  • 2 tsp maple syrup


For the Base

  1. Grease and line 4 loose-bottomed tartlet tins with parchment paper.
  2. Place the nuts, dates and oil into a blender and blend until combined. Press into the base of the tartlet tins and place in the fridge to set.

For the Topping

  1. Blend all the topping ingredients in a blender until smooth. Spoon onto the tartlets and smooth the top. Decorate each tartlet with 6 pecan halves and place in the fridge to set. When ready to serve, remove from the tins and brush the nuts with the maple syrup.
